Proverbs 25:28 “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”
T
hrough out history our forefathers knew the importance of building and maintaining walls around their cities. The importance was that these walls protected the cities from the enemy. If the walls were built to the max and maintained they were impassable, but if proper thought and care wasn’t given, the walls would start to deteriorate and corrode. The walls would become broken down and soon the enemy could easily get through them.
Our walk with God must have walls built around them. These walls are a product of the Word of God. If we are obedient to the Word we established these walls. To protect ourselves we must add to the walls. We must put boundaries in our lives, and through consistent prayer and reading of the Word, it helps us maintain them. When the enemy comes, and be sure he will, with these walls around you he won’t be able to gain access to your life. Build up those walls!
