Our History
Christian Life Center was founded in the early days of 1947 and was known as Oneness Apostolic Church. Originally located just a few miles from our current location. The founding Pastor, Rev. John O’Reilly served the congregation until November 1955 when Rev. Charles Smith was installed as Pastor, a position that he faithfully served in until his retirement in 1988. It was during the years of Pastor Smith’s leadership that the church continued to grow and progress. As the congregation grew the need for a larger facility was realized and a move to our current location took place. Following Rev. Charles Smith’s retirement in 1988, Rev. T.L. Kirk became the Pastor. Arriving in the area with a young family and a burden for the work of God, Pastor Kirk continued to build upon the strong foundation of faithfulness, loyalty and perseverance. During the early 1990’s the church continued to grow and the addition of a new sanctuary and fellowship hall was added. Pastor T. L. Kirk continued to serve as Pastor while Rev. James L. Kirk, the youngest of four sons, was placed as the Youth Pastor of CLC. With a visionary spirit, Pastor T. L. Kirk began the process of moving to Sr. Pastor and Rev. James L. Kirk becoming the Pastor of our growing congregation. In 2000 the mantle of Pastor was placed upon Rev. James L. Kirk. In 2004 Sr. Pastor T.L. Kirk become the Bishop as Pastor James L. Kirk became the Sr. Pastor. We continue to see the blessings of God’s grace and the growth of his Kingdom. Our future is bright and Revival is sweeping through the lives of the congregation of CLC.
Our Beliefs
Christian Life Center is a church striving to become a 21st Century Apostolic Church. We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.
We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4 ). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38.
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. Acts 2:4
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government. Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11
