The Ohio District Mid-Winter will again be hosted by CLC. We are very honored and excited for to hear Chad Erickson from Maryville, TN. As well as SRAC sign team and our very own Mass choir will be performing that night.
Pizza and roller skating to follow.
Snow Tubing with the Youth Group
On the 11th of February the JCREW took a trip to Valleys Edge Snow Tubing in New Paris, Ohio.
It was a two hour drive to get there. By the time we got there everyone was ready to get on a snow tube and start. We met up there with several other churches from around the state
Once everyone was in the lodge and everyone was situated they grabbed a tube and headed for the hill.
The hill that we were going to go down was twice the size of the one we went down in Mansfield the previous month. When we got to the hill we could choose to wait in line and go up on the lift or walk up the hill. There were a few brave people that walked up the hill but most of us just waited in line.
As people went up and down the hill, every few minutes you would see this chain of any where between 4 to 6 snow tubes go down and all of them screaming as if they were on a roller coaster.
If you’d go into the lodge you would see kids in there drinking cups of hot chocolate to warm up.
As the night came to a close people were going down for their final time. Once everyone was finished you could tell they were tired and ready to leave. About an hour after we left everyone on the church van was asleep. We returned home about 2:30 or 3:00 in the morning. Over all I think everyone had a great time.
NYC 2010!
NYC 2010 was a blast! We left the church that Sunday and drove all day. We watched the sun rise… and set. Sometimes we thought we would never get there. But, of course, we did. We laughed, slept, watched movies, and laughed some more, but most of all we couldn’t wait to get there. We left the cold weather of Ohio, bound for warm, sunny Florida. When we finally got to the Hotel you could smell the ocean. It was so warm we couldn’t believe it.
On Monday, we went to Universal studios. The first ride we rode was ‘The Hulk’. It was a lot more fun than what we thought it would be. We were only there for a few hours when it started to rain pretty hard, so we waited it out, but by the time we found shelter we were soaked. We just decided to ride the water rides. As the sun went down it began to get cold. When we were ready to leave, the majority of us decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe’ even though we were cold, wet and tired.
Tuesday we went to the beach. It was a gorgeous day! The sky was clear, the air was warm. It was hard to believe it was November. Later that night was the first service of National Youth Convention, Bro. Michael Jardnicek preached on ‘Amplify as Unto the Lord’. The Spirit of God moved in a mighty way.
Wednesday we stayed at the Hotel and went to the day service. Bro. Bobby Lewis preached on ‘Are You Ready to Live Out Loud?’ It was a message that you could listen to over and over without getting tired of. Later on, we just hung around the Hotel and explored. Then for church, Rev. Mathew Ball preached, His message was on ‘Don’t
Call Me Ichabod’. It was very good.
Thursday we went to Golden Corral for Thanksgiving dinner. It was great to spend Thanksgiving with each other. At church that night, Rev. Robert Martin preached on ‘The Times You’re Not Moved’. It was a fantastic message!
Friday morning we prepared for another long trip. It seemed shorter than the trip to Florida, because we slept 90% of the way home. We finally arrived at the church late. It was so cold compared to Florida. But it was good to be home again.
All in all, it was a great trip! One we will never forget for the rest of our lives…
Ladies Shopping Trip 2010

Shopping!!! How can you go shopping and not have fun?! The ladies from CLC were chauffeured to Canton, OH to shop, eat, and…just relax. There was so much fun on the bus, with all the caffeine and snacks everywhere it was never quiet…at least on my bench. :)
The ladies of CLC had a wonderful time when they visited the Westfield Belden Mall. Westfield Belden Mall is a beautiful mall in the Canton/Akron area that contained a lot of stores for every age group. However, before the ladies would leave the parking lot, the first lady of CLC, Angie Kirk, picked 5 random names out of a hat and awarded those winner with a crisp $20 bill, which is great lunch money! CLC also handed out a pink pen to all ladies that participated in this event.
The ladies left on Nov 6th, some with extra folding money, with high spirits ready to shop and fellowship. The chartered bus driven by Paul Wilson, CLC’s resident bus driver.
If you are not involved or have never been on a ladies
outing, I encourage you to attend the next event. You will walk away with a
smile on your face whether from laughing too hard or hearing an encouraging word
- you will not be disappointed. Special thanks to Sis. Angie and Sis. Kirk!
