“I Love My City” is a CLC initiative that began on Valentine’s Day in February of 2021. From the very beginning, the focus of ILMC has been to inspire and activate our church to fulfill our God-given purpose in our community. We do this by investing our time, energy, and resources in order to show the love of Jesus Christ to everyone that we come in contact with. We love our city because Jesus loves our city and He died to save our city. ILMC has become a powerful movement of generosity and compassion throughout Licking County. There are a variety of ways in which this movement is manifest on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Keep an eye for someone from CLC wearing an ILMC t-shirt.

At 6:00pm on the second Thursday of every month, we have passionate volunteers who are serving at three different locations in our community:

- Heath: located at Hitchcock Park, adjacent to the Heathwood Apartments. We provide a fun, safe, “block-party” style outdoor event for families that includes crafts, games, and giveaways—clothing, toiletries, backpacks/school supplies. Participants enjoy a free hot meal. We also offer transportation for children at this location to/from church services and events through our “CLC Express” van ministry.

- Newark: located at the basketball courts on East Main, adjacent to the County Jail. We serve a free hot meal and provide clothing, toiletries, and snack bags.

- Brownsville: located in the community center on Highway 40. We serve a free hot meal.

During the month of December, we do a Christmas toy drive at each of these locations.

We love our community and we look forward to meeting you at one of these locations.
